About the project

Sports Community Enrichment

This project strengthens the ties between sports organisations, clubs, athletes, children, parents, and everyone involved in sports.

In addition, the project develops new methods and practices, skills and, most importantly, keeps children in sports.

The JOY project develops concrete educational tools for coaches mixing art-based methods and variable motor skills exercises to form a novel supportive training program for promotion of inclusion and joy.

The pack will be co-created with sport clubs. By partaking in the development and deployment of these tools, the participants’ interaction skills develop and their commitment to the group improves. From this, a Coach Education Pack (CEP) will be created.

This pack is aimed especially for sport clubs, but the principles may be utilized in other children and youth organizations and associations as well. A model (VIP member) will also be developed for children, so they also take ownership and make their new team colleagues feel welcomed.

To keep the children and youth in sports, it is expected that the novel art-based methods may encourage children and young athletes to express their readiness to train and to give their coaches more tools to find out the young athletes’ mood and psychophysiological readiness before and after the training session.
